Specialized clinic for diagnosing and treating fatty liver, hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancers.
The liver clinic is a dedicated hepatology service for anyone with an abnormal liver test, a fatty liver finding on ultrasound, viral hepatitis or advanced liver disease. Rather than treating a single abnormal report in isolation, the clinic looks for the underlying cause and builds a long-term plan around it.
Specialized clinic for diagnosing and treating fatty liver, hepatitis, cirrhosis, and liver cancers.
Liver disease is often silent until it is advanced. Our liver clinic focuses on early detection and long-term management of fatty liver, hepatitis B and C, alcohol-related liver disease and cirrhosis.
Dr. Neil B. Palkhiwala, Consultant Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with 12+ years of experience, leads the liver clinic at Aryav Super Speciality Hospital in Science City, Sola, Ahmedabad, Gujarat — easily reached from Bhadaj, Shilaj, Ghatlodiya, Gota, Thaltej, Hebatpur, Memnagar and Gurukul.
Care combines blood tests, imaging, fibrosis assessment and a realistic lifestyle plan — because in fatty liver especially, weight and metabolic control do more than any tablet.
At Aryav Super Speciality Hospital, Sola, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, this treatment is planned and performed by Dr. Neil B. Palkhiwala and the clinical team, supported by advanced imaging, modular operation theatres, dedicated intensive care and an in-house rehabilitation unit.

Detailed history including alcohol, medication and metabolic risk factors.
Blood tests for liver function, viral markers and metabolic profile.
Ultrasound and fibrosis assessment to grade the disease.
Endoscopy to screen for varices where cirrhosis is suspected.
The most common reason patients are referred to the clinic. Management centres on sustained weight reduction, metabolic control (blood sugar, lipids) and regular fibrosis monitoring, with medication added only where indicated.
Hepatitis B is monitored or treated with antivirals depending on disease activity; hepatitis C is treated with a short, modern oral antiviral course that cures the great majority of patients.
Once cirrhosis is diagnosed, care shifts to slowing progression, screening for varices and liver cancer at set intervals, and managing complications such as fluid retention or confusion (encephalopathy) promptly.

Yes. Modern oral antiviral courses cure the great majority of patients within a few months, with minimal side effects.
Rarely. Non-invasive fibrosis assessment (blood-based scores and imaging) is sufficient for most patients; a biopsy is reserved for selected unclear cases.
Fatigue, loss of appetite, yellowing of the eyes or skin, swelling of the abdomen or legs, and abnormal liver tests on a routine check-up. Many patients have no symptoms at all until the disease is advanced, which is why screening matters.
Typically every three to six months, though this is individualised based on your diagnosis and how your reports are trending.
